KATHERINE made her grand entrance onto the pages of history on January 22, 1956. She was “blessed” to have two dads; her beloved father, the late Mr. Eugene Holmes - “Daddy Gene”, and her dear stepfather, the late Deacon Rubin Jones, Sr. - "Papa". Her lovely mother, Sister Doris Jones, celebrated her 82th birthday on May 8, 2012, and is very much alive and well!
Katherine married her high school sweetheart, Mart Everson, Jr. in 1978. They have five children; Andrea, Marquita, Kristina, Joshua, and Shana, and several grandchildren. She graduated from high school in 1974, and in 1978, she graduated and received a diploma in Office Administration from Powelson Business Institute. On June 1, 2000, she retired from Verizon Telephone Company, with 20 years of service, where she worked in various positions as an Operator, RSA-CSA, Manager & Training Instructor. One of her favorite sayings is “keep it real” so with that being said, let’s keep it real!
KATHERINE DID NOT EARN ANY COLLEGE DEGREES or FORMAL SEMINARY DEGREES, so Who and What qualifies her to preach & teach, cast out demons & minister to others in Jesus name?...Father God Himself qualified her! He delights in “CALLING & COMMISSIONING’’ flawed, unlikely, & most times “wounded” people to be about “His Business”, and His Holy Spirit heals, anoints, equips, and uses "ANYONE" whom He chooses!
She has been in "The School of Life" for many many years and the Holy Spirit has been, & still is, her Instructor!!! She has been in the valley, the cave, the pit, the wilderness, the desert & she's been through the fire too!!! She been through hell & high water and back, with real life experience to prove that absolutely nothing is to hard for ALMIGHTY GOD!!!
On June 14, 1997, Katherine preached her trial sermon and received her ministerial license as an "Evangelist" from Rev. Leroy Glenn Wright, Pastor of the former Faith United Methodist Church. She also ministered with him at the Onondaga County Justice Center. On September 28, 1998, she reunited with her childhood church family, Bellegrove Missionary Baptist Church, and was “re-licensed” on December 4, 2005, by Pastor, Dr. David Tanyhill, Jr. Finally, on April 28, 2010, Evangelist Everson made the "TOUGH" decision to take a "HUGE leap of faith", and left “the comfort zone of her home church” and launched out INTO THE DEEP SEA OF UNCERTAINTY, in order to pursue her heartfelt passion, purpose & mission in life, which has always been Luke 4:18, and upon which the ministry, Wounded Soldiers Ministries, is founded.
She has a compassionate heart & loves people, especially those who are hurting or wounded. Her only claim to fame is her ‘irrevocable assignment’ to "minister" to those to whom she has been sent & to those who may seek her out.
She thanks her Saviour & Lord, Jesus Christ, for giving her the" irresistible desire" & opportunity to be a "CO-LABORER" in HIS great harvest for HIS KINGDOM & prays that the Holy Ghost will keep the gifts that He has given her stirred up, so that she operates in His “exousia & dunamis power” thereby being competent and effective in his service!
Evangelist Everson is available to teach, speak, preach, and minister whenever & wherever she is wanted, needed or invited. She’s just a phone call or e-mail away. To Father God alone be the glory!
